I love this company
I’m not one to leave reviews but I know they are a small farm and I really want to support this company. I had a baby 9 months ago and he just stopped breastfeeding at about 4 months. I continued to pump until he was 6 month but it became very difficult since I don’t have any family in my area and my husband works full time. Pumping was impossible because he needed a lot of attention and I had to pump every 2 hours. Because of my profession, I’m very familiar with nutrition and what my son needs to thrive. I’m very hesitant about premade formulas because they didn’t taste right, they don’t taste like milk. I decided to make my own formula. I use this lactose powder to add to the goat milk powder. I’ve bought both from this company and it taste sooo good. My son absolutely loves it and has thrived beautifully from it. I recommend moms to make their own formula because you actually know what’s in it. They also sell a formula kit on their website. My formula is slightly different but super similar. I highly recommend it to moms trying to feed their infants the highest and best quality if they can’t breast feed.

Great, mild sweetener for green tea
So I originally purchased all the ingredients from Mount Capra to make supplemental soy free and dairy free formula for my baby when my supply dropped.I had some leftover goats milk lactose and I discovered it makes a nice addition to my morning hot matcha green tea powder beverage.

WT… crap is this?
If you are looking for a coffee creamer and run into this product you might be misled like I was. This is a non returnable item, so I was busted. I put it on my coffee today… this thing is not a creamer and it’s not a sweetener either. It may work as a probiotic, if what the label says is true. I was so frustrated trying to find a natural creamer for my coffee that I got caught. Some way, the name of the product is misleading. They should say: “Lactose Powder from goat milk”, or something like that, brcause this is what it is: LACTOSE. Anyways, I’ll take it as a probiotic.

Didn’t work out for us
After trying every formula on the market, even elemental, and still my baby was having terrible reflux and projectile vomiting, I decided to give homemade goat milk formula a try. The first several batches I made, I used organic, raw turbinado sugar as the carb. My baby did great on it, it was an absolute miracle. Decided to try the Capra lactose as the carb and my LO started spitting up again. For whatever reason, it just didn’t work for him. Also, it smells really bad and makes the goat milk formula (and thus his spit up) smell awful. We’all go back to the turbinado sugar. The Capra lactose does dissolve/mix sooo much better though. Sadly it just didn’t work for us.

3 Stars For Excellent taste and texture disolves and mixes well in cold …
3 Stars For Excellent taste and texture disolves and mixes well in cold or warm water. Not 5 Stars because Problem is its not as sweet. Lactose is suppose to add sweetness to the regular whole goat powder when mixed but it really just blends in with the regular goat milk taste. Will need to add more than 1/4 tsp to every 4 ounces of milk for it to sweeten the milk a bit.But other than that Product is great in Taste and is not Gritty when mixed.

Smells bad!
As first time parents, this formula supplement came recommended from friends. Research also claims.it is the next best thing for your infant next to mother’s milk. I took a star away because qhen my baby spits up, it smells like adult vomit. If you miss a tiny spot in the car seat or highchair….ugh! It absolutely REEKS!

My son loves it!
Part of his new goat’s milk formula recipe, this lactose was recommended specifically by our son’s Pediatrician (she also practices homeopathy)- he loves the taste of the new formula and it’s worth every penny. More importantly on switching to goat milk and goat lactose and adding the other ingredients he was prescribed my son’s skin is clearing up and less dry/ irritated.Product arrived quickly and in perfect condition- I just made a second order.
